Professional Services Office Manager

Community Science's mission is to help build the capacity of government agencies, foundations, and nonprofit organizations to develop healthy, just and equitable communities. We conduct research and provide consultation on complex social issues. Our clients include several federal agencies as well as leading national foundations and not-for-profit organizations. We are seeking a full-time Office Manager to be responsible for the company's facilities and operations management, as well as provide coordination of human resource, financial management, marketing services and the production of quality reports, presentations and other deliverables.

You will assist company leadership in the general operation of the office and the overall company.  You must be able to operate independently, communicate frequently, and stay on top of multiple responsibilities. This will require relying on superb organizational skills in a fast-paced and demanding environment where you will help us make a difference in the lives of people in this and other countries.


  • Develop and maintain a healthy and positive work environment for staff and visitors.
  • Organize and document office operations and procedures; ensure these procedures are being followed by staff.
  • Maintains office services by organizing office operations and procedures; preparing payroll; maintaining filing systems; reviewing and approving supply requisitions; assigning and monitoring clerical functions.
  • Coordinate with financial and HR service providers as needed.
  • Manage company facility to ensure it is well organized, presentable and safe at all times.
  • Ensure that the supply inventory is maintained.
  • Manage logistics of company meetings including room preparation, scheduling, and meals etc. as well as management of small external events.
  • Oversee equipment and technology vendors to ensure equipment are in working order at all times.
  • Assist in the onboarding process for new hires, including phones, email setup, computers, etc.
  • Provide general administrative support to company CEO such as making travel arrangements and scheduling.
  • Create and format "state-of-the-art" documents in MS Word, PowerPoint, and other software to support projects and proposal efforts.
  • Oversee company purchasing and reimbursement practices including travel.
  • Support company marketing efforts.



  • Three years of relevant experience in a professional environment. Professional services organization experience preferred.
  • Ability to work with a diverse professional staff.
  • Capable of recognizing and consistently applying high professional standards to each aspect of the role.
  • Ability to handle multiple competing demands.
  • Well organized and detail oriented.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
